Coursework
This is a curation of all the courses I have taken at Clemson University that pertain to my major, Spanish and International Business. During my years studying Spanish and International Business, I have taken a variety of Business and Spanish courses that have amplified my knowledge in these fields. 
I began my studies at Clemson as a Criminal Justice major with the intent to attend law school after completing my undergraduate degree. After reflection upon my personal skills and attributes, I found that I would be better suited following the path of a Language and International Business (LAIB) student. This shift in types of classes is reflected in my coursework load however is significant to include as it represents growth in self-realization as well as a portion of my time spent Clemson.

Criminal Justice Courses

JUST 2880

-The Criminal Justice System: I analyzed criminal justice agencies, honing in on law enforcement and corrections, while examining their interagency ties with courts and prosecution. This provided valuable insights into the collaborative dynamics that shape the legal system.

JUST 4930

-Corrections: I studied analysis of correctional alternatives, exploring topics such as sentencing strategies, their impact, and the dynamics of prison populations. Additionally, I examined issues related to inmate social structures, treatment, custody, and community-based alternatives like probation, parole, electronic monitoring, and work release, providing insights into correctional management challenges.

-CI in CJ: Gangsterism in Film: I collaborated with faculty and fellow students in selecting criminal justice topics for investigation, navigating diverse goals, research approaches, and outcomes that evolved each semester and with each project. This dynamic process allowed for a tailored exploration of various aspects within the realm of criminal justice.

-Race and Crime: I critically explored the intricate relationship between race and crime within the American justice system, examining historical and contemporary racial justice struggles. -Essen Math for the Informed Soc: I delved into topics like logic and computers, probability and statistics, and financial mathematics, exploring specifics such as Boolean algebra, digital data formats, randomness, graphical representation of data, and techniques in inference and estimation. Additionally, I covered concepts related to interest, annuities, and amortization in the realm of financial mathematics.

-Business Calculus 1: I engaged in an intuitive exploration of calculus concepts and applications, covering topics such as functions, graphing, differentiation, and integration. The course also presented real-world applications from social, biological, and management sciences, enhancing my understanding of the practical uses of calculus in various fields.

-Business Calculus II: The introduction of calculus in several variables, exploring differential calculus, optimization, and multiple integrals. The course illustrated these concepts using topics from the management sciences, providing practical applications for a deeper understanding.

-Statistical Methods I- I learned the fundamental concepts and methods of statistical inference, covering data organization, elementary probability, measures of central tendency and variation, significance tests, sampling, and simple linear regression and correlation. Throughout, I emphasized the pivotal role of statistics in interpreting research findings and demonstrated practical application using statistical microcomputer.

-Elementary Spanish- Increased knowledge of vocabulary and creating proper sentence structure.

-Intermediate Spanish: I engaged in an intermediate language course focused on refining my listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, with systematic review of grammatical structures and basic vocabulary. The course also offered insights into literary and cultural perspectives, enhancing my overall language proficiency.

-Intermediate Spanish: I continued my Spanish language journey with SPAN 2010, building on the foundation laid in the previous course. This continuation focused on further enhancing my language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

-Spanish for Int’l Business I: I looked into commercial Spanish, studying both spoken and written language, protocol, and the cultural nuances of the Spanish-speaking business world. The course equipped me with business vocabulary, fundamental concepts, and provided practical situational practice, including reading and analyzing commercial texts.

SPAN 4160

-Spanish for Int’l Business II: The study of advanced business vocabulary, cultural concepts, and the Hispanic market environment, exploring social, political, and economic issues in Spanish-speaking countries within the context of global marketing. The course covered economic geography, company organization, management, banking, investment, and marketing of goods and services in Hispanic countries, providing a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.

-Spanish Contemporary Literature: I studied traditional novellas, poetry, and other texts of well renowned Spanish Authors. I learned new vocabulary specific to the different regions of Spain as well as leanred new methods for text analysis.

-Spanish Civilization & Culture: I learned about the different nuances in culture specific to the regions of Spain, in particular Andalucia. I also learned about Spain's history and drawn influence from Romans and the Moors.

-Advanced Spanish: In this course, I built upon previous knowledge of grammar and practiced speaking to increase fluency. There was also an emphasis on the different vocabulary and way of speaking of the Andaluscian people.

-Intro to Lang & International Business: I explored the nature of international business and potential career paths, with a survey highlighting information and applications specifically relevant to the tourism, agriculture, and textile industries. This course provided insights into the global landscape of business, focusing on sectors with unique international considerations.

-Language Portfolio: I crafted an Edossier (digital portfolio) showcasing my competencies in reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, cross-cultural awareness, and ethical judgment. The portfolio also documented my study abroad or internship experience, offering a comprehensive representation of my skills and experiences.

LAIB 4000

-Language and International Business Intern: I undertook a mandatory internship with an international company, either in the United States or abroad, gaining practical experience part-time or full-time during the summer or academic semester for a minimum of 140 hours. A report was then written following the internship summarizing my findings.

-General Biology I- In the first semester of this two-part sequence, I embarked on an exploration of cells, cellular activities, genetics, and animal diversity with an evolutionary perspective. The emphasis was on understanding the scientific processes that underpin these biological phenomena.

-General Biology Lab I: In the laboratory accompanying BIOL 1030, I focused on honing practical laboratory techniques, gaining familiarity with biological instrumentation, and conducting investigations in biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
